Amarinth delivers 18m-long pumps for new Indian FPSO

Amarinth has accomplished a US$1.5 million order from Armada Madura for six API 610 VS4 vertical pumps for a new FPSO being built for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

Two of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour level depressant pumps which are 18m in length and the other 4 are methanol carry pumps which may be 10m long.
All of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors that have been designed and built along the length of the pumps to observe the temperature of each bearing individually.
The 18m lengthy pumps incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches each pump to its tank during set up guaranteeing that as the pump is lowered into the tank it stays perfectly aligned, decreasing vibration and put on throughout operation.
Once assembled, the pumps have been independently witness examined and authorized by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps had been then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore the place the FPSO (floating production storage and offloading unit) is being constructed.
The pump supply and set up had to align with the FPSO construct schedule. Because of the length of the pumps, they had to be installed into the vessel’s tanks by way of the deck before one other deck above the pumps could presumably be built. The first part was accomplished efficiently over the Christmas period with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning group supporting the client with the installation and commissioning.
The FPSO shall be positioned in the KG-DWN 98/2 field, approximately 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. pressure gauge is designed to produce up to ninety 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It will be outfitted to handle the monsoon situations prevalent on the subject.
