Amarinth supplies API 610 pumps for the West Qurna-2 enlargement venture in Iraq

Amarinth has delivered two separate orders of API 610 pumps, collectively worth £1.2 million, for the West Qurna-2 expansion venture in Iraq.

The first order, from Cannon Artes, was for seven tremendous duplex API 610 OH1 pumps. The large pumps had impellers of over 500mm diameter and the casings, that weigh 1.5 tonnes, were forged in a foundry within the UK. Plan 53B seal assist methods were designed to suit inside a constrained footprint and because the pumps were destined for an ATEX Zone 2 space, the motors, seal assist systems, and instrumentation have been IECEx certified. Witness testing and inspection was undertaken by Bureau Veritas and a full legalised Iraq documentation bundle was delivered with the pumps. Delivery was achieved on a brief 38-weeks, regardless of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.
