In parallel, digitalisation has offered increased alternatives and introduced new challenges, including debates on the appropriate regulatory stage (sharing of industrial data, synthetic intelligence, cybersecurity, etc).
These developments, amidst ever more fierce international competitors, require that public authorities and industry within the EU work more and more more carefully to design and deploy methods that reinforce our competitiveness and our contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This would be the topic of the initial debate kicking off our Joint EU Policy Conference, which is in a position to convey together key policy makers from the three EU policy establishments in command of the Industrial Strategy and three Executives representing and illustrating the achievements enjoyed, and challenges nonetheless confronted, by these three key sectors of industry.

In our particular enviornment, that relates, after all, to the manufacture, distribution and use of pumps and all pump associated tools – an enormous and important subset of business, given the width and breadth of pump purposes.
Against this backdrop, one of many primary considerations when figuring out the core themes for the joint conference was to take care of a direct reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Within this focus, the three associations intend to focus on how, along with the importance for firms to address technical elements impacting their day by day business operations, they consider the optimistic role of trade in addressing societal challenges. Indeed, all the classes will have a technical theme matching essentially the most applicable UN SDG, and with illustration from the European Commission along with technical specialists from industry and/or research institutes, they will each be reflective of the current legislative terrain, as it relates to pumps and pumping techniques in the following key areas:
Circular Economy & Eco-design (Relevant UN Sustainable Development Goal no. 12: Responsible Consumption and Production)
