Danish pump producer Svanehøj has launched its newly developed environmentally pleasant Flow Control system, which automates the management of electric cargo pumps on tankers.
The launch of the newly developed software-based management system follows a successful check in collaboration with the Swedish delivery company Furetank on the P&C tanker Fure Ven. The 18,000 DWT vessel was in-built 2019 as one of Furetank’s V-Series, a new era of climate-smart P&C tankers.
Svanehøj’ เกจวัดแรงดันแบบแห้ง makes it quicker, simpler, and extra environment friendly to function electrical cargo pumps. It ensures an optimal changeover between tanks and pumps in parallel, reducing the time needed for cargo discharge by up to 20% because the system will mechanically operate at the optimal responsibility point. It allows the operator to take full management of the pumps, simplifying the entire cargo discharge operation without putting in any extra hardware.
Fure Ven is among the first vessels at Furetank to have electric cargo pumps installed. The firm has recorded a 25% reduction in power and fuel consumption in relation to cargo discharge operations in comparability with vessels in the fleet which have hydraulic pumps.
